Thick-gauge aluminum shell casings are anodized — a chemical conversion process that protects the surface for ultimate durability & corrosion resistance. The diecast cookboxes on the interior are anodized as well (Mil-Spec, Type III), so there’s no paint to peel, chip or bubble.
